getting codes 33 and 36

i keep getting these codes, both of them point to something with my mass air flow sensor. does anyone know what they mean exactly? i've tried 3 different sensors, and i keep getting the codes. the sensors havent been new ones, but still i figured one of them would be bound to work. i've reset the computer every time i change it. do you guys think maybe i have an electrical problem on that wire that plugs into the sensor? if so, how do i check that the voltage is correct?? also, do you have to calibrate your mass air flow sensor if you change your motor from a 305 to a 350, or if you change your injectors, etc... thanks

I had a similar problem recently. I had replaced the MAF power and burn-off relays and still had problems. A new MAF sensor did not solve the problem either. I eventually took it to a chevy dealer nearby (my car is a trans am) and they found the problem to be 1 wire somewhere in the MAF system (I didn't bother to ask which one as I had had enough of that issue). The dealer charged $65 for the full diagnostic work up and another $90 for the labor (though I am sure it was a pain in the *** to find). So for $155 my problem was solved.
Point is, if you have the patience and perhaps a service manual for your car, follow it to a tee. If not, it's not too bad a price to have the dealer do a diagnostic test for you.
