what kind of hp you think i'll have
ok with a totally stock 89 transam Gta 350 tpi do you think this would be a good start hsr, good cam, trick flow heads and i know some are thinking i sould get afrs but for the money ouch probally some 2055 hooker headers, some kind of exshast, some tuning, all the free mods, stock weight, all the good ignition stuff thats running around 3000 thats all i really wanted to spend on the engine if theres any better combos to get the best horses to rear then let me no and keep it street no spray oo yes it has about 210 hp right now with 120,000 miles so with all that how much hp you think im going to be getting or maybe even a good estimated 1/4 will be
"Good cam" and "some kind of exhaust" are pretty broad areas.
120k miles with a new cam, heads and headers....I'm betting you'd blow that engine in a few months..not particularly because of the mods, but because you'll be flogging the engine more with those mods.

The RWHP will be 275, and the 1/4 mile ET will be low 13s.
OK, you dont agree, but that is my guess, sorry.
I went 12.996 sec (or so) at Norwalk with ET Streets, ZZ9 cam, SuperRam upper and base, AFR 190s, SLP headers and catback, 52mm TB, 24#/hr Ford Racing injectors, 3.70 rear gears, and my chip.

You will need to modify the Firebird intake system. Look into the SLP cold air system or make your own. Depending on what components you pick you can make 400HP at the engine. Don't skimp on the exhaust system. You have to let those heads breathe freely. Same on the intake.
I can easily see 300RWHP if you chose correctly.
You will have to freshen up your engine or your oil consumption will go sky high.

id say your 1/4 time where im at would be about 14.7 your rwhp right now if your completely stock will be about 190 rather than 210 that 700r4 takes a lot. Sea level id say about a 14.2, I wouldnt get hooker headers you cant get to the spark plugs for nothing without taking them back off but slp headers are just as good and you can get to your spark plugs. Im making about 250hp at the tires about 310 at the fly wheel thats how much hp that 700r4 takes away i might be making a little more at the tires than that but im not sure. No dyno around and the hp calculators doesnt take in the fact im way above sea level and my gear ratio is 2.77 so im probably making about 260 or so at the tires.
