autometer electric Oil pres. guage
how do i go about hooking this sending unit that came with the guage, up to the engine?
my Car is a 92 with a 350 TPI, is it the same place where the oil filter is? or on the back of the engine block near in the intake? the instructions are not "car specific" so im not sure where this sending unit goes.
can anyone help out?

What you'll need to do is attach it to the rear china wall on the block. I've got an oil pressure gauge and that's what I have to do. Unfortunatly I've been to lazy to rip apart my TPI so I can see what I'm doing. You also may have to modify your intake so it can screw into it. Just remove the plug and go to town. This is how they used to do it on older cars.
ok, i installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge on my 87 tpi 350 motor. its a 92 TPI system on it though, but 87 block should be same as 92. the electric sender goes the same place. Behind the intake manifold on top of the block there should be a sending unit installed already or at least a plugged hole. you screw the new sender right into that. make sure to use teflon tape to prevent leaking. IIRC the sender port by the oil filter is also for the fuel pressure switch and other stuff for the computer so try to stay away from that one if you can. If you need a pic of exactly where the top hole is located, i have another 350 tpi block on a stand with no intake or heads that i can take a picture of.

here is a shot of my old LT4, you can see the oil pressure fitting screwed into the back of the china wall on the top left of the block, that is a 2 piece fitting.
