CAI Elbow for TPI

Anyone ever use the LTI Air Inlet elbow(metal) that Summit sells on a TPI setup?? Its the the 90*elbow that fits beteen the TB and Mass sensor. I havent seen that elbow for a TPI Fbody and it looks like it would work if you just face it 180* out because the filter is on the opposite side of engine bay.

Yes, I use one on my custom cold air intake. I had to get a longer hose from the throttle body to the LT1 elbow. The hose is 4 inches in diameter. The end towards the filter is 3.5 inches. I made up a special adaptor out of a plastic fitting to reduce the 3.5 inches to 3" of the MAF. You can buy silicone hose that will do the same thing.

I also made a bracket to relocate my MAF about 4 inches to the passenger side. From the MAF to the air filter I used 3.5 inch tubing. Again I had to make an adaptor to go from the 3 inch MAF to the 3.5 inch tubing.

I used a K&N cone style airfilter with a 3.5 inch inlet and total length of 9". The "weak" spot is the MAF at 750CFM modified with the screens out and the fins cut. Allen

ok, cool I'm glad to hear it will work. I might not run into a problem having to get longer hose beteen the TB and elbow because im running a Super Ram and it seems to extened further foward then the stock TPI. 1989GTATRANSAM what brand elbow did you use??? I see Summit selling 2 brands - Trick Flow and Vortech

I bought the Trick Flow and the ceramic coated version. There is a hole for I believe the air temperature sensor for the LT1. I just plugged it up. Allen
