injectors
ok me and my dad did a motor swap on my 86 iroc. i bought it really cheap with a blowen 305. we put in the gm 350 z motor and it runs great, but i was woundering since the motor is not getting enough gas if i can get away with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator or if i need to just buy the expensive injectors for a 350?

I assume that you are still using the 305 ECM. If so, just buy a Hypertech or SLP chip intened for a 350 and install it in the ECM.
Which injectors are you using, the ones from the blown 305 or ones that may have come in the 350?

i am using the injectors from the 305 and i do not think that the chip would make a diffrence with how much gas is being put in, the injectors are already staying open longer then they should because it isnt getting enough in the bigger motor.

Nikon02, I burn my own chips, trust me, the 350 chip is what you want, it will make a big difference. Since you have the 19#/hr injectors, 1) buy the 350 chips and install it, and 2) buy a AFPR and set it at 55psi. Your BLMs should not be too far from the stock 350 BLMs if you follow this procedure.

ok i uderstand the chip thing now. but my orgininal question u nswered with the fuel pressure regulator.
i was thinking that the chip would not change the fuel pressure all by itself

Well, you are right the ECM will not change the fuel pressure. The important thing about the 350 chip (and maybe the only key diff) is that the fuel injector constant is set at 21.6 #/hr in the 350 chip, while the 305 is set at about 19 #/hr. The 350 needs about 21.6 #/hr fuel constant to get the ECM to minimize the learning process which will keep the BLMs closest to 128 as possible.

i looked at the prom in there now and it is not factory.
could a good aftermarket chip for a 305 work or is there a way i can see what the chip is for?

What you are thinking about is problems. Just get the right parts for the 350, 22# fuel injectors and the correct chip for the ECM and quit trying to make a bandaid fix. My opinion...
