Heads/cam

I want to get new cylinder heads, cam , and intake manifold , but i want to get good at prom burning before i get a cam car has speed density so it will need a new prom burned. My question is will i see a good power increase if i do heads without a cam? Would it be worth even puttin on heads and a intake manifold with out a cam ? cam im looking at is zz4 and comp cc304-8 I found alot of info on the zz4 but just one post on the cc304-8 is anyone running the cc304-8 on a SD car if so how does it run ?

Maybe just go with bigger roller tip rockers for now. I went with the ZZ4 cam with 1.6 rockers and I like it. It doesnt have too much duration for the tpi and it still idles nice.

Did you have to change the valve springs?

stock L98 heads flow like 196 cfm or so at .500lift. and the stock cam isnt near .500 inch lift.

so aftermarket heads and intake will allow alot more air into the motor, upward of 250cfm and that will allow for more fuel to be burned and thus make power. just add more fuel via a adjustable fuel regulator and add 1.6 ratio roller rockers

could see a honest 40hp gain. Scoggin dickey put vortecs and their TPI intake on stock L98 and picked up 40 hp. you should be able to do that easily.

The car had the 1.6 when i got it. When I put the ZZ4 cam in i changed heads. Vortec pro topline and the scoggin dickey intake.

I want it to be emissions legal. plan is to pass emmisions this august then put the heads and possibly the cam in.And then when i get sick of the power of that im goin all forged internals 355 and a supercharger but thats not for a while.
