Remote mout coil to HEI swap

I have decided to go back to the 7730 ecm from megasquirt until Ultra Mega Squirt comes out. So I have to change distributors, from vacuum advance to electronically controlled. I have my old wiring harness that I will use, but that was for a remote mount distributor. I am wanting to do a HEI coil in cap swap though and was wanting to know how to wire it. Thanks.

They are both 'HEI'. Why do you want to swap to a coil in cap? I doubt you'd see the RPM to get any scatter if that is what you are worried about.

Sorry, I just caught the mistake I made. I am not making the swap for any kind of power or anything. Just that I got an Accel cap in coil distributor, cap, rotor, and coil for free. So I want to use them and I like not having to mount a coil. I have heard that Accell makes a conversion to go from in cap to external, can I use it to go reverse or what other way to do it?

The Power and Tach connections are fairly straight forward.... on the 2 wire connector of the main wiring harness that used to go to the remote coil you connect the big pink wire to the "12V+" or "BATT" connector on the coil-in-cap distributor. The smaller white wire from that same connector goes to the "TACH" terminal of the coil-in-cap distributor.

BUT..... the ECM connections are totally different between a coil-in-cap computer controlled HEI and a divorced coil computer controlled HEI. I can't help you with that part of the wiring. I don't even know if it would be compatible by jsut cojnecting the appropriate wires together.
