Chan-nel-lock pliers, number 410. Don't use any other pliers or Vice-Grips, just the 410's.

(Bet he thinks I'm kidding - Who wants to bet?)

If I remember correctly, when this happened to me, I know I applied heat, and I think it was a 10mm socket I modified to get it out.

No, it's not the only way. It's just an easy way. You could cut/drill/tap if you choose to do so. The nice thing about the 410s is that they won't slip. The bolt will either twist off or come loose. If it is fused so badly that it twists off, any other extractor wouldn't do any better. If you can fit the plier jaws in there, it will turn it. Period. Vice-Grips (even the genuine Petersen ones) don't hold a candle to the gripping power. Knipex (Germany) makes some nice self-gripping pliers as well, but they still aren't as good as the 410s.

hey guys! intake manifold gasket was blown so i pulled everything and after i got the fuel rails off i got to that bolt easy and it came right off. see before i could only get a wrench on 1 way and that way was already stripped but after i pulled the rails it made it 1000 times easier and it came loose with little effort. thanks for the help!

Vader, are the 307 and 414 also worth getting for the smaller and larger bolts?
