About a ZZ4 cam
I have a 350 tpi bored .60 over bbk throttle body etc. I wanted to know if a ZZ4 cam would change my idle because from what i've heard it doesn't. I don't really want my car to sound like a drag car with the lopey idle like most cars I hear with cams have...any cams I can grab that will add performance and not mess up my idle?

Well I'm looking into the ZZ4 cam right now and there's only a couple of issues.
1) Screw in studs are a good idea.
2) DIfferent Valvesprings (Comp 981)
3) Varying opinions on machining valve guide bosses. Will need to measure to be sure.
Other then that I've heard that most ppl run off of the STOCK tune (MAF or SD) with just increased FP and advanced timing. This should only be until you can do some custom DIY because more gains could be realized with that...
Overall seems people get low 13's w/ the ZZ4 cam and matched components (Headers, Ported intake, higher stall, gears...)

You car will sound like stock. Like said above make sure you heads can handle the extra lift. Allen

I've had multiple people come up to me and ask what kind of cam I have. The ZZ4 cam idles great, and doesn't sound too lopey at all, but there's no doubt it's not stock.
...but there's no doubt it's not some drag motor that barely stays running either. Idle quality "could" be factory, but anyone who knows cars will know the car's got a cam.

I just re-read your first post, and for the sake of what you're asking, I'd say that no, the cam will not mess up your idle, and it does sound pretty darn close to stock.
