Changing from TPI to Superram!!

Wondering it anyone had to modify anything while changing to the accel superram setup from there stock tpi that i should know about before installing mine? Like ecm adjustments or any other needed mods. Also i am going to install the complete setup (runners, pleumn, and lower intake) not just the upper intake kit on my L98.

You will have a bit of a clearance problem with the left rear corner of the plenum touching the wiper motor. You can remove the wiper motor, and cut down the little spacers that go between it and the firewall. Then reinstall.

Also, some sound advice. All of the 1/4 inch, fasteners that go up into the plenum, through the runner flanges,(actually holds the plenum and runners together). Take these, and on the threaded end, cut a fine slot into them with a Dremel. That way you can draw them up with a small screwdriver, from inside the plenum....BIG TIME SAVER! Make sure you tape the ports though, or that small driver might find its way in your engine...Good Luck.

BTW, a long boxed end 1/4 in wrench, and small 1/4 in. ignition wrench will help in the hard to get to areas, like in the back by the wiper motor.

With a 91 S/D car, programming can help.

Doing any other motor changes or mods? Changing injectors, heads, cam, etc.? If not, the computer will probably not "NEED" to be changed, but you'll see perfromance gains if you do.

If you're changing anything, then definitely figure on getting into prom burning....

I also reversed the runner to plenum bolts on mine by tapping the runners. Now I used rounded head screw from inside the plenum screwing down into the runners - that's even easier still!

Thats what i did to the inner bolts put helicoils in the runner flanges. Ran some button head screws thru from the top. The outside bolts are easy to get to so i just left them. I had to lengthen my TPS harness a little to. It was a little tight and caused me some problems with a bad connection at the sensor.

The wiper motor...i just swapped the rubber feet around to the outside.

Dont know if your getting this new or not. But the SuperRam uses a slightly different Throttle cable bracket. The stocker will work but the angle is a little off puts the TV cable in a slight bind under the plenum.
