383, TF, SR and 219. Thats what I have. Yes its a fun car but you cant really get on it because it just tears the hell out of the tires, but on the other side it misses a little topend. I know I posted this awile back, but I'm thinking of maybe a Miniram or LT1 intake. Loose some bottom end because I have way too much, and maybe get a little top end to flatten out the curve. What do you guys think?

I see edelbrocks complete engine combo consists of LT1 intake, their heads and their VERY similer 218/218 560/560 112 cam and it produced a very broad torque and HP curve. I think my 219 cam and 383 helps with TQ and maybe the miniram and TF 195 heads will help flow a tad upper rpm? Just shooting out a suggestion.

 

The LKT1 intake will cost you a little torque down low, but not as much as many people might believe. Then again, you don't seem to be suffering from inadequate torque at launch. That same intake will support a lot more high RPM flow than a TPI system, even a heavily modified one. The long intake tract is just going to enjoy life a lot more at low RPMs, even when siamesed with adjacent holes. Something about a large 3" runner just allows flow at a wide range of RPMS, so almost all the flow tuning is done with the cam.

 

I"m having the same problem. I've put a bunch of money in suspension and tires and that helped but I've still got more low end torque than I can use. I'm planning on a StealthRam.

 

I'd go with a slightly larger cam and play with the cam timing myself,,,,,, especially if that cam was / is set up advanced 4 degrees.

 

You will have some problems trying to get the lt1 intake to work right, it ain't no bolt-on. I think I'd run a stealthram before I bought another miniram, much cheaper.

Let me know if you want to sell the superram and 219 cam, I still regret selling mine, I'd buy them from you.

 

I guess you havent been to lt1intake.com. they sell lt1 intakes already modified ready to bolt on and its 200 bucks cheaper than holley stealth ram.

 

I've done 3 swaps including my own using intakes from LT1intake.com. Why don't you buy one and try it and then report back your results?

The stealthram would be a better swap with much less hassle.

 

I would use the stealthram, but I want to use my STB and I dont want to cut my hood. If they made a low profile one I would be all over it.
