I am just curious to know from others that have done this, how hard is it to do? I have read around a bit on them and I get the idea that you have to put the gaskets on right and you have to make sure you have the runners on the right side or you will know shorty that you have done it wrong. This part confuses me on putting the runners on the wrong side. Yes they look the same but one side of the factory runners has an extra air tube i think, not to sure what it is but there is five tubes on one side and only 4 on the other side. The slp runners look exactly the same but one side has an extra opening on the mating surface, top and bottom, to let you know that it goes on the passenger side. Not sure how people get this messed up. Like I said, just want to know how hard it is to put these on and about how long it takes to put them on. Not sure if I will get to it this week but they will be going on soon. Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated.

Your going to have to disassemble the left and right runners and plenum.

The fuel rail will have to be loosened to let the slp runners slide under them as they are slighty taller there.

Clean all surfaces very good and match the top of the runner to the plenum and you will be fine. If you have the sides swapped the runner will stick out straight on the pass side of the plenum. Look at the stock ones on the car now, and you will see what I mean.

Assemble it loosely with all bolts. Once you ahve the runners in place tighten the bolts down to where you have some play in the runner still. Do the other side the same way. Now install the plenum gaskets and the plenum and install the upper/plenum bolts.

Then tighten and torque to I believe 17ft lbs (do this part, lots of boneheads here crank them down and strip them out :-))

Dont forget the midlength bolts that bolt the runners to the intake from the inside. There will be on the pass runner accessible from the t-stat area and one on the drvr runner in the rear, you can get to that from coming in at an angle in the rear.

Have fun, its not too hard at all, jus take your time and match things up and use a torque wrench.

what 3.8TransAM said is basically it, but make shure you pay atention when removing the bolts & remember where they go. I think there are like 3 or 4 diffrent length between all of them.

Actually there are only 2 different sizes. The runners came with new bolts to attach to the plenum.

They don't come with all the bolts. There are 2 bolts that bolt from the inside that are not included
