ok, so I got my car running at about 800 rpm at idle when warm in park, it runs a little rough. One of the questions I have is why when I go to hook up my scanner to the car, the RPMS jump to about 1100 and on the scanner the Integrator is at 138 and the blms are at 150, it says it is running rich (most the times, sometimes it is fine.) when i take the scanner off the rpms lower and it is still a little rough.
1st question is why does the scanner do this

2nd question is do you think that the cars blm and int. are fine when it is idleing and only when the scanner is hooked up that the numbers jump b/c it is idleing high (if that makes sense to you)

3rd question is when i start my car in the morning cold it will not idle at all and just die unless i feather the gas for about 2 min. or untill it goes into closed loop whitch ever comes first i quess. what could be causing this problem, i understand it could be a million things but i think i have tried everything.

4th question a code 34 comes up on the scanner I just replaced the MAF and really dont think that it is the sensor itself. I tapped on the sensor and nothing happened, i banged on it nothing happened, the G/S on the scanner seem fine what else could be setting a 34?

I did a helll of alot to try and get my car to run good and dont know where to go from here.

btw I tryied a search and alot of topics that i dont need come up I think it is time for a new type of search or better search.

With the BLMs at whatever, you are running near 14.7:1 with the fuel correction factored in. So, you were running lean and the computer is adding fuel to put you at 14.7...

Maybe a general tune-up will help you.

What about an AFPR? Apparently, the engine needs more fuel (for whatever reason, the BLMs are at 150). So increase the fuel pressure by about 4 psi and watch the BLMs come down.

Also, what is the BLMs when you are riving around? And in what fuel cells. You should have 15 fuel cells from 0 to 15.

Did you reset the ECM error codes? Try reset the codes and see if the 34 code comes back.

Thanks for the response, I did a full tune up and it did run a little better, the fuel pressure is at 39 so i thought that was ok, how much does an AFPR cost? I never drove around with the scanner on so I am not sure about the blms there. I did reset the code several times and every time the code comes back. I have been thinking and dreading might i need a new PROM?

When you check the fuel pressure you are to remove the vacuum line and plug it with your fingertip as you read the fuel pressure. Stock fuel pressure should be around 43 to 44psi.

Do some more searching on code 34, I cant help much here because I always got the dreaded 33 error code.

would i be able to adjust the fuel pressure to 44 w/o buying a AFPR? The code itself really isnt bothering me just that my car isnt running CORRECT. would 3-4lbs of pressure really make my car run like it is?

The "A" in AFPR stands for "adjustable".

Generally speaking...if you want to adjust fuel pressure you need an adjustable regulator.
