rocker arms
I have an 86 IROC Z-28 with a 305 tpi. i'm getting ready to install a set of 1.6 roller rockers. They are not self aligning. I was browsing through the FAQ boards and i read that if i dont have self aligning rocker arms, that i would have to pull the heads and what not. I was expecting a quick and easy swap. Can somebody explain to me what i would need to do. Thanks. Will

More than likely, like Smurfin' said, you shouldn't need guide plates. Several times, I've run into problems with the guideplates actually screwing up geometry, and pushing the rockers off center and causing all kinds of headaches, up to and including broken guideplates.
BTW, Spanky, when are you posting, at school?
Take it easy, and call me when the R/A's show up.
