emissions and valve seals

emissions and valve seals

Will an engine that's in need of new valve stem seals have problems passing emissions?
I need to know whether to begin to worry or not

Mine are fairly bad, good puff of smoke on startup. Passed emissiions with flying colours.

It would not pass without a cat, just barely failed. What a difference a cat made. Emissions were way below allowable limits.

I'm burning oil bad too along with lots of millage. Soon gonna pull the engine and put in another.

my valve guides are bad so i have a nice blue puff whenever the car is sitting for a while and i step on the gas, or whenever i start the car when its hot. they wouldnt even put it on the probes for emissions because of visible smoke. rejected...45 days to fix it. its been about 60. car is off the road, but thats becasue of an engine swap. heh.
