cold air intake
can anyone tell me the true gains by putting a cold air intake on a 87 gta with 5.7. i have only found one cold air intake for my car and it is $269. is it worth it.

They are known to free up a few HP, but 269 is steep price for a few HP, IMO.
Search for "homemade ramair" or "home made CAI", etc, and see what others have done to accomplish the same thing for less than 30 bucks.
