TPS wants to stick when tightened

Okay, getting car back together. I put a new TPS on it. When I tighten it down so it does not move, it wants to stick, I can lossen it up just a hair, and its okay, but then it will move.

Is there a problem with the sensor, or the tb?

You may try to grind down slightly the part that is sticking. Might work???

Did you look at it to see if you can identify any physical problems, such as the tip of the TPS blade rubbing on the throttle body? If you can see a physical issue such as that, you should be able to fix it. If not, stick a couple thin washers between the TPS and the throttle body. If that doesn't help, maybe something's binding inside of the TPS.

The above posts are correct. I had that problem when I installed the TPS on my Holley 58MM throttle body. It turned out to be the return lever was hitting the side of the throttle body.

I just ground the lever down a little and viola the problem went away. Hope this helps. Allen

Got it fixed. The plastic on the back of the TPS was chewed up. Sanded it down and it works great.
