It RUNS!!!

Ran out of time tonight to break in the cam, but I wanted to just fire it up to see if it would. Had to move the distributor a bit but on the second time it fired right up. I'm just glad the thing started!

The new motor is a 400 2 bolt bored .040 over (sonic checked first of course) Ross Pistons, Ohio crank rods and a cast eagle crank. Cam is a custom grind from cam motion, couldn't afford hydraulic roller this time around, but maybe next time. On top is Pro lightning 180 heads and an LT1 intake with all the fixings. PROM tuning done by me...

A good breathing 408 should really make this heavy GTA scoot

Things to notice in the pic is the relocated relays, relocated wiring harness, polished 98+ master cylinder to compliment the brakes, painted brake booster, the new centerbolt vavle covers, and of course the new Catipillar highway yellow paint.

Got the cam broke in this afternoon. Had to go to work so no time for a test drive. Checked the lash tonight and its all looking good. Just glad to not have anything catastrophic happen (yet). Looks like I won't be able to run this thing at the track for another 4 weeks, but at least that'll give me time to get the tuning close.

That's the best engine shot post that I have seen in a long time.

I like the polished master cylinder with painted booster. Well done.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your results at the track. I hope it pulls like a freight train.

Did you take the master cylinder off to polish it? How hard was that?

BTW your engine looks great. Will you have any HP and torque readings on it?

The master cylinder was a total PITA to polish, it wasn't worth the time at all. Probably killed at least 3 abrasive disks on it that ring in around $2+ a peice, plus alot of time sanding by hand. Just a rough estimate, I probably spent 6-8 hours on it, and theirs a lot more areas to improve on it. Half the time was spent sanding by hand while watching family guy episodes and movies.

Now that I finally filled the master cylinder up all the way with brake fluid I know my brake light switch works. On the 98+ f-body's the low brake fluid switch has a float that activates the dummy switch when the fluid is low. All I did was grab a connector out of the junkyard and wired the original dummy light wire to the orange wire and the black wire to a ground.

Where its at it should be a lot more usefull than the factory one which activates the dummy light right after loosing all your brakes.
