CCV Air In Problem

I bought new valve covers and they require a Ford PCV valve grommet. I bought one for the drivers side and the PCV valve is all installed and working well. However for the drivers side, I can't seem to find an elbow that fits quite right. Another problem is the metal hose that routes from the plenum to the drivers side valve cover (called CCV in my Chilton manual) sometimes shorts against my alternator post.

Basically, I was wondering if I could flip the valve cover around and run a hose straight from the valve cover to the intake. Basically the same thing but flipping it around and running a different hose.

The CCV hose doesn't really go to the intake. It connects to the TB in front of the throttle plates, so it is effectively just filtereed air from the air cleaner.

Yeah I know that, I mean throttle body, not intake. I ended up just getting long hose and routing it the way it should be.
