MAF sensor gone bad???

Okay, so today i sprayed my engine down(also used a light engine degreaser, but made sure i got all of it off). I noticed the MAF sensor was broke, right where the wires plug in. Seemed funny. Everything dried, went to start it again, and it started up like usual, then died out. Started again, same thing. Eventually, it just pissed me off enough, so i went inside and left it. Came back out later, and it started up, and ran fine(after moving the MAF plug in and out a couple times). So i was driving it around, and after 5-10 minutes of driving around, the car seemed to be idleing low(500 rpm). So i went to get on the gas, and i watched the tach climb from 500, to 1,500rpm, then it just died back down to about 100 rpm. I did the same thing til i could get into a parking lot. It seems like there's a rev. limiter now at like 1,500 rpm. Could this be the MAF, and that i'm choking the engine out? Or is it more likely i need a new ECM? Or what else could it be? Oh yeah, and BTW, it only happens when the car is in gear. In park, it can be rev.d to red line

If you are having MAF problems, there should be an error code and SES lamp on the dash.

Error codes are stored in RAM for the last 50 engine run cycles. Unless your car is like mine, and only gets driven about 10 times a year, it probably isn't that old.
