emissions removal
I am doing work on my brothers 89' 350 TPI and we are looking to get rid of all the emissions equipment on the vehicle. We are not worried about passing inspection. We are looking to clean up and get rid of anything not needed to keep it running. Vacuum line routing other wiring, Basically if we were putting it in a hot rod set up that is what we are looking for. Any help would be apprecited.

I gotta ask...
Do you think by removing the emissions devices you'll gain anything? Other than a little bit of weight loss and a cleaner bay, nothing is gained...
That said,
You can remove and reroute the heater bypass, remove the smog pump andn AIR diverter, whack the AIR tubes off 9assume you'll get headers, so get them without tubes), remove the charcoal cannister and let it dump inmto the atmosphere....not gonna even mention what will become of this if you ever try to sell the car.
All said and done, you'll have a cleaner bay, pollute the atmosphere, and maybe shave .05 of your ET.
Ya know there's many 12 second (and below) fully emission legal 3rdgens hitting the pavement?

I really considered doing the same for a while but in my mid 30's I am starting to feel earth friendly - what the hell! I emmissions isnt that bad, just not as clean but saves the earth 1 car at a time.

Don't know all of which .bins this has been found on, but the AIR is tied into O2 sensor readings as well, which means the calculated AFR is going to be wrong if you remove AIR in some applications.
This has been proven on this board.
