Please post your big cam in your TPI
Im thinking about going with a big cam and a nice pair of heads on my 350 TPI. right now i have a baby cam in there , with 305 heads. I do have SL1 injectors, that i made clips for to fit safely. i wanted an idea of how big of a cam (204in duration, 424in lift) i could go with my engine. im going to convert it to speed density instead of mass air as well. i was looking at the cams on TPIs, im going with a hydrolic roller. right now im running a hydrolic flat tappet. i also have a full exhaust on the car.
GM LT4-HOT cam did great for me, 218/228 dur @ 0.050 and 0.525" lift on a 112 LSA.
Needed some fuel tuning in the WOT table when I ran MAF, needed VE table tuning as well when I went Speed Density.

Theres a fellow here in SoCal (VincentZ28) running a 226-234 Lunati with a super ram.
I am going with 224-230 comp cams xtreme energy cam also with a super ram. Mine isnt up and running yet.
Vince has had good results.

Best dyno run with regular long-tube runners, Accel base, and ZZ4 heads:

PS: we found later that the cam was 8deg advanced...had 4deg advance ground in, I screwed up post-timing-wheel and installed the Cloyes timing set on the +4deg keyway set...netting 8deg advance.

I would spend the bucks for a good set of heads such as the AFR 195's or maybe Trickflows. You don't need a big cam to make good power if you have good flowing heads. Here is my set up and dyno graph with a 212/224 degree cam.
