Supercharging the TPI 350

Friend of mine has an 90 5.7 TPI Formula, He is suppose to be getting the Vortech Supercharger available for it. My question is about the transmission. Will to be able to handle the 340 HP and 430 lb's of torque? (Vortech's Prediction)

Yes and no. I've seen or heard of 700r4 standing up to TONS of HP without a hiccup, and then I've heard of people blowing them as soon as they mod the car. Mine went within' days of my motor rebuild.

What's the mileage? Does the trans shift firm and crisp or is it starting to get sloppy?

...and regardless of what mod on what car you do, once you dig in, you are GOING to eventually have problems. That's the badge of honor we all wear for being in this hobby!

Just get your transmission re done. If you have the money to fork over for a Supercharger, you have the money to build up your tranny also..
