Fuel injectors sizing?
If i replace the stock 22 lb injectors with 23 lb from tpis will I have to buy an adjustable mass air sensor. I was told that I would have to but I am not sure. Thanks for any reply.

Naw...what do you expect an adjustbale MAF to get you?
If anything, maybe an adjustbale fuel pressure regulator and maybe knock it down a PSI or two...for WOT runs...
The new injectors will be close enough for cruise stuff, pretty sure there's plenty of room in the PROM to compensate for the slight difference.
FWIW I run 21lb/hr Accels in my '89 at 44-45PSI...ya ya..still the stock tune...damn me for not getting into PROM burning

The only reason I questioned this is because a friend of mine has rustang and he put bigger injectors in it and had to buy an adjustable maf. I did not know if TPI were the same way if they were maf cars.

I see, seems the 5.0 crowd has been using aftermarket MAFs for quite sometime..also with some good gains.
Don't see what it could buy you for the price...might asllow more fuel...guess it's easier to install than an AFPR...but I'd rather pop for 60 bucks than 300+....

I have an AFPR. That was worth 2 tenths in the 1/8. What is the point of an adjustable MAF then.
IMO going from 22 to 23 lb. injectors is a big waste of cash. If you've already had the engine tweaked with your AFPR and it's all tuned up, I wouldn't bother with injectors. 1 lb. difference wouldn't do anything. If you plan on mods, I'd find some 30 lb. injectors.

The only reason I am going with the 23's is because TPIS sell a set of them for 65.00. I can not get mine cleaned and flow matched for that. I know it will not be much of a dufference if any but it is a great deal.

$65 for a set? That's a damned good price.
Re: Whats the adjustable MAF for?
Well, that was the question I asked you
I'd take a guess and say it fools the ECM into thinking more air is coming in...so ECM can add more fuel...proably timing as well...but you still hit the PROM limits...but maybe you just hit'em sooner?
I dunno, seem like a lot of money with no actual posted data.

That is what I was thinking. I dont know anyone who has used one but grannatelli sells the crap outta them.
I dont know about #23s, from TPIS. Are they even #23s, or just #22s passed off to take your money. I am very skeptical on those injectors. I thought this way for a while, but now that someone has posted about it, I thought I'd add my
I cant see buying a set 1lb higher, when you can just bump the FP up a tad.
I wish someone that is equipped to test them can see if they are indeed #23s. The pounds per hour is so close, you might not even be able to see a difference.
TPIS knows that the average guy will not check them, or is not capable of checking them. Just my opinion. Think of the money these guys made on their eprom game.

Ya know, I wouldn't put it past TPIS to take the LS? whatever takeouts that SLP is selling for what, 100 bucks a set? And calling them 23/lb/hr injectors...IIRC the SLP takeouts are 26lb/hr, but rated at higher fuel PSI than our cars...so...back the fuel PSI down, could be the same darn thing...dunno...but when a company tries to sell a stock part (TPIS) for 3x what it goes for at the dealer, I gotta wonder about them
Got their catalog right here.
#20-$56.95
#24-$61.95
#27-$67.95
#32-$75.00...And on and on. Wow $540.00 for #27s what a deal..NOT!
These prices are EACH, my friends. TPIS will not even give a sticker away! (thats the truth)!

I have had alot of help from the guys at TPIS and I have asked several times wether it is a piece or a set and everytime it is a set. I have an email saved from them that even says it just in case they give me grief when I order them. I know 23 lbs. will not make any difference from the 22 lbs. stock but like I said before, 65.00 A SET!!! is a great deal. If no one belives this, email them and ask. They are very prompt on replies so you will no in a day or so.

I forgot to add, a company such as TPIS would be retarded to charge 540.00 for a set of injectors and try to stay competitve with other companies.

I'm not knocking thier products, but cost is just too prohibitive for the average enthusiast, IMO....well, was the last time I visted them...if they have changed thier pricing structures, then I apologize for the misinformation.
Same here. My catalog is a 2003. AFPRs and large tube runners and especially camshafts are all overpriced. Hopefully they did restructure their prices.
A couple of years back, their claim was they sell Bosch injectors, and they are the best.
I hope you can get the injectors for $65.00. But then TPIS is way lower than everyone else, and that dont seem right either.

I am sure they are higher then most, but compare there bases to SDPC or ASM as well as the runners. They are fairly close in price. Some of there things are ridiculously over priced, but the things I am looking at our fairly cheap. They probably are takeouts of some sort. I do not belive they are the best either, but I am on a budget and for the time being I belive they will be fine.

Will physically bolt right in. Should really consider changing the injector constant in the eprom. You will be rich, as the new, larger, injectors will be held open for the same length as the #19s, or #22s you will be replacing. Adjusting the AFPR down is a bandaid fix for larger injectors.

TPIS prices are $140 ($340) more for a set of 8 Bosch 22# injectors than FiveOMotorsports price of $200, Word to the wise.

Fords use a maf tube when performing injector changes. Hence your buddy's mustang maf comment.
Get some SV0 24# injectors off ebay. Change the injector constant, and have a nice day.
TPIS are a bunch of morons.
