Need some advice
im gonna be gettin a 87 formula pretty soon. has the 350tpi motor. car has been sittin for 3 years not running. i was wondering wha ti would need besides a fresh battery to get this thing started? im gonna try to get it running be4 i buy it so i can move it and look underneath for any rust. so im gonna be doing this at a guys house

Gas. The stuff that is in there is so old, if it will even run the engine, it will run badly. IF you can, drain the tank. If there is not much in there, just add about 5 gallons of 94 octane, and see if it will start.
May want to look for critter nests under the hood before you start though..... Sucking a mouse thru the intake tract would be bad..... (and I don't think the mouse would appreciate it either...)

Good advice, but I'd suggest using the LOWEST octane fuel possible for the "recovery project". Lower octane fuel has a higher volatility, and slightly higher solvent properties. Since the existing fuel that remains has probably lost some of its volatility, the fresh fill of low octane should tend to dilute some of the remnant and clean/clear it out a little better.
