How do I tell if my Prom is the original Prom?

How can I tell if my Prom is original? Can I use the I.D. number my scantool gives me? It says Prom I.D. 9501.
I just want to make sure someone didn't do something to the Prom in my car before I owned it.

1986 Camaro 305 Tpi.

It would be hard to say if its "original" or not. Usually, PROMs are updated to correct certain fixes. Sometimes they are updated at the factory and the car leaves with the new one, or sometimes it its not updated right away and gets it done under warranty, so if you have an updated PROM, its hard to say if its original or what. As far as the Scan ID, thats a start, but that won't tell you if somebody messed with it or not. If I go into your chip and change everything around, the Scan ID won't change (but the sliver sticker on top of the chip itself will show evedince of being peeled back).
