Not running so good.

I swapped in a L98 into my pickup. I seem to have worked out all of the kinks, and the engine is working ok. I'm not setting any codes, but it seems to be sluggish while lightly accelerating, especially when its cold.

I tried raise the timing, and that helped out, maybe I went a little too far. I'm at 10* right now. I can't hear any pinging, but maybe the knock sensor is and retarding the timing.

My other hypothosis is that my header collectors are leaking and allowing air into the exhaust and getting to the O2 sensor and so the computer is thinking its lean, and is richening the mixture. The O2 sensor is in the header collector.

Anything else I should check out?

I don't know. I need to get a guage, along with an afpr.

OK, fuel pressure at idle is 38psi. I reved it up a little while sitting there and it varied a little, but right around 38.

I got an afpr, but haven't installed it. When I do, what should I set it at?

I'm running 87 octane, would filling up with premium help out that much?

I know in my 01 formula I can't really tell the difference between midgrade and premium. if I run regular it will ping a little.
