Change the cap/rotor, spark plugs, spark plugs wires, air/fuel filter, put a bottle of good fuel system cleaner, clean the throttle body and plenum, change the O2 sensor and IAC, check the timing... With all that your car should run like when it was brand new again and you will get better gas mileage and better performance too.

Id go with what he said but I would change the fuel filter after you had the fuel system cleaner otherwise you have all that debris in your new filter.

Get good parts for tune up don't go cheap. Use some seafoam in the tank its awesome. You can get it at autozone. Hopefully your car won't be a neverending battle like mine, but I do enjoy working on it.

NOW I HAVE ONE QUESTION. I'M NOT A MECHANIC BY FAR WOULD U RECOMMEND I CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER AND THE 02 SENSOR MYSELF??? HOW MANY O2 SENSORS DOES THE 88 IROC HAVE????? THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT GUYS. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 1 YEAR IN MY UNCLES YARD AND I THINK THAT ITS GOING TO BE WORTH THE TIME, MONEY, AND HASSLE TO FIX THIS THING.!!!!
