88 350 tpi need HELP!!!
i got my car back on the road a cople of months ago nev motor ect the problem is it stats verry hard sometimes and blows a puf of black smoke out the pips. then other times it fires right up, i meen like the starter hits the flywheel and it is running. also every once and awile when i shut it off then jump back in in it sets the SES light and goes into limp mode, it i turn it of wate like 2 min it is fine. And last of all this gust started today when we were messing with it under hard accelration it stats surging???
anyone got any ideas what going on

ok had it on the scanner today and the coolent temp was reading 249 put a new one on it read 247 when i un plug it it reads 113 wtf help anyone

these are you reading after it has fully cooled down right? over night should be the same or very close to the same IAT sensor reading KOEO
if so and you unplugged the coolant temp sensor like you said. it sounds like the wire has grounded out somewhere (possiably on your exhaust?)

it reads the same hot or cold. i dont think it has grouned out on the exhaust b/c it is up in front of the intake and all the wires are between the runnere and valve covers
