can knock sensor rotate distributercap
can knock sensor rotate distributer cap I ran the car with now MAF sensor for a while and herd lots of knock. Due to the ECM not knowing load conditions. but right before I put the new MAF in It started backfiring after replacing the MAF backfiring would still happen when reved over 2500 rpms. then it died and would not start. I had spark and hevy smell of of gass when it was crankin. so is it possible that all I have to do is rotate my distributer cap a little or is it more or less i don't know????

trying to read what you typed, ill try my best.
the knock sensor does not physically make your cap 'move' however it does send signal to the ecm to retard your timing -this is all done electronicly.
play with your timing by rotating the distributor one way or the other see if that helps. make sure to disconnect your est wire first.

yep
yes I did disconect the battery termanls and let sit all night.
sorry I was in a rush when I posted the question. I ran the car 2 months with no MAF it ran rough but never the less it ran. The day my MAF showed up at auto zone (ordered part) right before I went to pick up the MAF. it started backfiring on me
I was wondering when I start tampering or rotating the distributer cap is there a certin set position it should be set at or is it like hit or miss or if it is a certin setting and I line it up right
I still won't start or is acting funny when is it posible that the timing at the chain is ba ??????? compleatly lost but I aprisheate the info thanks
