1 i got my tpi unit used, at some point some body put some effort in to this thing and gutted the lower intake all the way to the center of intake. they also ported the bottom of the stock runners alittle
was this worth it or does it defeat the porpous of the long runner design?
2 the po also had no injector locks on it, it didnt look like any of it had been a part for a long time but it had been run, smelled of fresh gas.
are the locks 100% necessary?

Siamesed runners and lower intakes does indeed defeat some of the resonance that makes the TPI system produce torque at lower RPMs.
With stock fuel rails and stock intake base, the only purpose for the injector clips is for ease of assembly. Once the injectors are installed and the fuel rails are bolted down, the injectors cannot lift out or sink lower.
