Best Torque Setup
Id like to know what TPI combos can make near 500 FT LBS Torque in the 2500-5500rpm range. I already have a 350 with TRW Forged pistons and stock crank/rods. I can get a set of old 76cc iron heads that have been fully worked over, that would be good for use with Boost. If torque is my goal, tell me about cam selection, Centrifugal Supercharger vs. Nitrous vs. Turbo.
Im looking at building an engine over the next year, while I drive the car with the lil 305.

nitrous has always made lots of torque. TPI will make the torque no matter what u put on it tho, via boost or spray. i'd say boost it so the power is always there. turbos do make alot of torque and i seen many tests that show turbos making more low end power than superchargers.
as far as cam goes.. something in the TPI range of 200-215 degrees of duration at .050 lift. lift in the .500 range. should make plenty of grunt in the lower rpms.
you could try a 4x4 cam in there... havent seen what those cams do but are suppose to be the best low end cams made for truck 4x4s that need bottom end grunt

I love the supercharger sound, but they are quite expensive. Both the guys I race with are doing turbos for their Camaro's, so a turbo would be easy to do after seeing there setups. But nitrous is the cheapest , and just as effective. I'll probably just wait around through winter and mabey I'll end up finding one of the 3 for sale for cheap.
So if all I want is torque, keeping the stock TPI intake setup wont hurt me at all, right?
