LT1 cam vs 1.6 rockers

Hey all, couldn't find a clear answer while searching and I have a different setup than those I have been reading about.

I basically have a LB9 motor from an 88 IROC 5 speed. However this was swapped into my firebird and the TBI setup was kept. I'm posting this on the TPI section since the LB9 is the motor you are all familiar with.

Anyway, since the motor was a 5 speed LB9 that means I already have the L98 cam. From what I gather, the specs are:
Lift Duration Lobe Rocker
Int. Exh. Int. Exh. Separation Arm Ratio
.415 .430 207 213 117.0 (116/-118)

I'm looking for a little bit more power out of this motor but not a whole lot. I plan on doing headers already. So do you think I would benefit more from a LT1 cam or 1.6 rockers in this case?

well i feel that going to the 1.6 rockers is something that the factory should have done in the first place, how ever if you are going through the hassle of a cam swap you should go for the lt4 cam or a cc304..

i think 1.6 rockers will be about teh same as a LT1.

i'd go 1.6 rockers but if you want to do teh cam swap, then go for a better cam. maybe ZZ4 or similar

I think I am leaning towards the 1.6 rockers. Did some research on the zz4 and lt4 cam and it seems to bit a little too much then what I need. The car needs to be reliable enough to be a daily driver. Besides, I'm really not up to changing valves springs and the studs or messing with the chip. The rockers change appears to be the best option of freeing up a little bit of horsepower while retaining all driveabilty.

Have any of you done this rocker change? What do you recommend as far as brands. To make shure, since I have the centerbolt covers, I need the 3/8ths stud rockers?

And lastly, what do you all think about these:

Thanks for the advice so far.

those are stamped steel just like your stockers.

Get some roller tip or full rollers. Free up more hp...

rollers are abit pricey... but comp cams magnum rollers are not super expensive.

i think the ZZ4 would be a great match for TPI in a 305. it works extremely well in the L98. just add abit more fuel with a AFPR and newer springs to handle the extra lift.

but 1.6's are good either way.
