car dies randomly
Some have probably read previous posts, and might remember, I got the car back from the shop a while ago, and finally got plates for it, Anyway the car starts up idles fine now, and runs great and then all of a sudden it will run real rough kinda "cough", and then die. Which at that point it will show a servic engine light. But then start up just fine like nothing happened. But if when it starts to run funny I give it a lot of gas it will pull out of it and be just fine? Could this possibly be fuel injectors, they told me 4 are looking like they are on their way out.

i get that too sometimes. but i got my mat sensor replaced and it rarely happens now. i only got to drive it for a little longer before the tranny crapped out on me. as soon as i worked on the tranny and started it up for the first time in a week, i let it warm up and it still died going into gear. (turned out i didnt fix the problem). but yea its getting me worried, but i cant take the car out. maybe they just changed the throttle position or whatever its called with the little screw to lower it, but now there isnt enough when it goes into gear. thats my guess if not a bad iac.
What did the shop do to determine that 4 of the injectors are on the way out?
My car is doing the same exact thing...starts right up idles fine when cold..after it warms up a bit the idle gets a rough and it stalls when I'm at a light..but starts right back up. I have to give it a little gas at idle so it keeps running...while cruising it runs great. I've replaced a few parts on the car like cap/rotor/ coolant sensor an O2 sensor...nothing. Also cleaned the IAC valve and the passage to it. I chgecked the injectors cold with an ohm meter and they read normal (16.3-16.8 ohms)...hot they are 17.4-17.9 ohms. Put a fuel pressure guage on the car after it was turned off,and pressure went from 43psi to 22psi in about a half an hour...I don't know if thats right or not. You could try these things to see if the injectors are possibly bad.
For my car I think they are the problem....Hopefully someone can chime in on this.....

Mine would do something similar. I would be driving along and all of a sudden it would stall. Turned out my MAF was screwed so new MAF and it hasn't done it again.
