Recurrent problems
Bill has problems with his car bogging down and locking up on him. It is a 1985 Iroc Camaro, 305 and 350 tpi, 700R4 tranny with 345 gears. He has taken it to numerous mechanics trying to fic this. He was told it had a 88 engine harness and his computer needed replaced. When hooked up on a diagnostic machine alot of codes popped up. He gets sent to one place that cant help him and that person in turn sends him somewhere else. This has been going on for months. There are alot of Camaros in this area but no one seems to know crap about what is or might be wrong with his car. He is wondering if it is a mass air inflow prob.. maybe tpi too. He got the car roughly 6 months ago, it ran fine for the first 2 of those months then all these problems started up. Took it too a shop it ran fine for like 2 days then died on with and locked up. It finally started up again but he cant drive it. He works 13 hour shifts so I am trying to help find any information and contacts to help him. That car is his baby and I am pretty damn fond of it myself. When I tried to speak to people from numbers I got off of sites or whatever I usually got a "oh a female calling with a car question" attitude. I dont know much but I know enough to intelligently ask and understand an answer. I and Bill would grealy appreciate any input to possible problems and/or answers to this. It kills me to go to his house and she is sitting there not being able to be driven. HELP!!

Giving us the actual trouble codes would help alot as well as when it actually happens.
Is the car cold or hot or doesnt matter and so forth, etc.
Stalling and a lot of codes would make me want to say cheack the grds on the pass cyl head in the rear. These cause all kinds of issues and are often ignored.
Other than that we need some more info. Can only guess at things until more questions get answered.
U say 305/350 TPI? Which is it? What year is the TPI and ECM from and what type of engine was it replaced with if it is a 350?

Problem codes
I talked to him, told him the posting and replies and he gave me the codes, 24,44, and 45. As to the other info he said he will give it to me tonight so I can edit this and get the right info. He said the lock-up was vapor lock.. I think. Many thank yous! This site rocks and it is so nice to find ppl that know what they're talking about.
