gm performance engine w\TPI

I am looking at the GM performance 350 HO 330 hp engine from summit ($2,399). The thing that is weird, is why at the end of the description it says for 1976 and earlier cars. That just seems stupid. Anyway, will this engine work well with a TPI setup. I know that the 290 hp 350ci is not recomended for fuel injection. So I was wondering if this engine is the same, and why are they not for fuel inection( whats the differance).

The '76 and earlier bit is for emissions stuff. The 330hp HO has Vortec heads with no EGR provisions. You can still rig up the EGR with a external setup off the exhaust manifold/header, but still. Scoggin Dickey has some kind of kit for that to go with their TPI intake.

You'd need a Vortec TPI base for that crate engine BTW.

My car is an 85 camaro TPI. So your saying that I need an aftermarket intake manifold to put my intake on this engine.

Yes you need that , the vortec heads are different than the stock ones so the stock intake wont fit.
