Do you have abt 43 lbs of fuel press at the fuel rail?

did you change the fuel pump? the rs' had tbi units and the l98's had tpi's. i thought the fuel pumps were different because of the different pressures. tpi operates between 39 and 45 psi. tbi units operate around 14 or 15 i think.

I would check fuel pressure like they said first.

Than check for all power and grounds at ecm and engine block.

later

sorry to but in...but I may have that issue with the fuel pump.

I took a fuel pump out of an RS and put it in my 91Z. Was that a bad idea? Are they diff? Mines doing the same thing.

yes. if the z has the tpi and the rs has the tbi, then the fuel pumps are different. you need one for the tpi to run the tpi unit. they operate at different pressures.

When you swapped in the tpi pump did you also replace the rubber coupling hose with a piece of high pressure line?

That little rubber coupling was designed for the lower pressure tbi pump, it won't last too long with a tpi pump.
