Good to hear that. - Gotta love that TPI grunt! -

nick418 - why LS1? people talk of that motor like it's ***'s gift...Yes, it's a good motor, yes it makes good power, but dollar for dollar BETTER power than a good ole 350?...I don't think so...

HEH.... Hate to break it to ya.. LS1s are underated as well as LT1s.. Look at the street boards. They claim a base LS1 was 305hp @ crank.. Dynoed test those and them made 305rwhp with a 6 speed! Those engines go. Very little to do and those things will hit 11s like nothing. Most ppl that have L98s who hit 11s have an aftermarket intake and ditched the TPI. Is that really considered a L98 then? Plus the later Fbodies LS1s came with LS6 intakes.. Those cars are fast! TPI was good for its time, but very restrictive! I love the low end tq on my l98 though! Put it this way the LS1 is the best engine a fbody has ever had under the hood. Performance, Economy, Dependable!

yea, the original plan was to put an LT1 in her, but i ran out of money. I love the swap, I found out it also has a ported intake, I got my headers on, and an air foil

not saying a stock L98, just saying old school 350 vs LS1. - Dollar for dollar. In the years to come, I see where the LS1 will come into play(more common, more availability). But as it stands, my car has runn 11.7 and I've got about $3k in the motor, counting getting the block, etc. Now, if I started w/ buying an LS1, how much would that be in the end.

- sorry to be off topic

p.s 11.7 in a car that weighs in @ a hefty 4161 w/ me and a little over a 1/4 tank.
