finaly tuning my 85 305 tpi.

guys i need some help finly tuning my car. ok i have gone through and completely professionally rebuilt my motor. all the mods are in the sig. ive just got some questions on my basic settings and what they should be. right now ive got the tps and iac set correctly by factory specs. my base timing is right between 7 and 8* as of now and my fuel pressure is set at 45psi. Is there anything else i should check? i do notice that is cranks kinda hard but i beleive its because of the comp ratio. it has almost 10:1. im gonna try tuning air/fuel ratio once i get my autometer guage in and hooked up. one thing i am having problems with is i cannot find where my o2 sensor wire is on the harness. when i put the motor back in its the only wire i cannot fine. i know it sounds dumb but i cant find it anywheres ive searched. if you have any more ques on the combo ask and ill be more specific

Sounds like you got issues homer. You need to find that wire, I'd say thats your biggest issues right now. Where ever your O2 sensor is that connector has gotta be close to it unless you cut the wire or something.

BTW how did you properly tune the TPS and IAC without your O2 sensor plugged in??? Thats not right. Unless i'm not reading the post correct

It should start without an oxygen sensor. You'll get a code, but the ECM doesn't use the O² for open loop (startup).

yeah but Vader doesn't the TPS need to be in Closed loop for final adjustments and to ensure it's still at same volts as open loop? Same with IAC adjustments, car should be at full oper temps from what i understand.

No doubt that the TPS is critical for either open- or closed-loop, and even more so when there is no oxygen sensor to check the mixture.

For the minimum air position adjustment, the engine needs to be at full operating temperature. The TPS adjustment shouldn't matter, however.
