Ported Tpi And Sdpc Intake Or Lt1 Set Up
I am entertaining the option of getting a LT1 intake set up to replace my TPI set up which consist of SDPC vortec heads and intake with ported plenum. I am wondering if i would get more power with the LT1 set up. Also, if i go LT1, do i have to go to speed density and change wiring or can i keep the MAF and do i have to change heads also or would a LT1 bolt on my vortec heads. I just want to know if it would be worth it to change or just keep what i got. thanks

i was going to buy intake to match. I was thinking of pulling my SDPC intake of with the plenum and runners and buy a new intake for LT1. I have less than 5000 miles on new set up shown on my sig but have been told to go with LT1 to get more power. I know i will lose some torque by switching (which i dont like because i love my torque) but is it really worth the switch as far as 1/4 mile times to do the switch.

You would be better off having a LT-4 intake modifed (LT-4 intake ports better match the intake ports on vortec heads than the LT-1's ports). Or, get the vortec stealth-ram.
However, a good set of runners and a decent cam will get you where you want to go.
