cold air induction question
I've noticed some posts in which people have said that some people dont have MAF's. Does this mean they have MAP's or does it mean they have nothing altogether. If it is indeed the latter, does it affect the air flow to the engine a lot if i were to take out the MAF sensor. I say this because I cannot think of a reasonable way to make a cold air induction without disturbing the operations of the MAF sensor. I've noticed that some people have air filters mounted directly onto the throttle body. What are the advantages and disadvantages to doing this.

Either one has a MAF equipped engine management system or a speed density(MAP) equipped system. Only those with speed density systems can have air filters directly on the Throttle Body. Your car will run like crap if you take out the MAF sensor.
What you may be thinking of is "De-screening" the MAF sensor, in case you haven't noticed(sorry if I'm being a dick) there are screens attached to the MAF sensor that can be removed. Research on this topic would lead you to believe that doing so is dumb which is probably the truth.
The End.
