Breaking her in

Hey, just jotting down the procedure i'm going to use to break in my new 350. Please add or edit to this or post your own methods.

1. Before starting, set TPS to 1/2v and jumper IAC pins on aldl.
2. Crank it over and turn distributer to get a estimated smooth idle.
3. Run for 30min revving from 2-2500rpms. (Breaks in cam lobes and lifters)
4. After that 30min has been completed, immediatly set the correct timing with a timing light.
5. Turn off and let cool.
6. Drive for 30 miles varying loads speeds while not exceding 5k and using lots of throttle.
7. After 30 miles, run 5 med throttle accelerations to 60mph - coast back to about 20.
8. Nextly (during same trip), run 5 full throttle accelerations to 60mph - coast back to about 20.
9. Change oil and filter
10. Drive for 500 miles not beating on the car.
11. Change oil and filter again.

This sound right?

if it is a roller cam you should be alright with only 10-15 min of 2500rpm, and that is more to break in the punched out cylinders.

good luck
