Maf Sensor

is there any way to bypass the mass air flow sensor and have it removed so i can use a straight Cold Air Intake Tube direct from the Throttle Body??????? because my car wont stay on with the MAF Sensor OFF

The only means I know is to install a later style plenum with a MAP sensor, change the ECM, and run in speed/density scheme instead of MAF.
