Yeah, convert your MAF to speed density (MAP).

There are several discussions about it, search for full details.

keep the maf. just get the cold air intake from hawks third gen. great system yet a little pricy but by the time and money you spend on converting to speed density, you could just get the other almost.

Keep the MAF, and as suggested above get the "ram air boxes" from Hawks third gen. I have a similar setup, but a molded plastic air box as one complete, drop in unit. I removed the fog lamps on my IROCZ and removed the factory plastic stuff under the air filters, along with the upper tray. What I purchased brings in cold air thru the empty fog lamp locations, turns the air 90 degrees upeards , directly into the bottom of the air filters.

In fact, you can make your own "tunnels" yourself. Do a search on this wen site, you will find stuff on this matter.

The company that I purchased this ram air piece is out of business, so I probably have one of the few in this country.

Here is a picture of my cold air intake with the MAF. Made 322 rear wheel horsepower with it.

That is a very nice cold air intake setup, but I am talking about a true cold Ram air setup. For a Camaro, you cant beat this system.

Got it from work. We were cleaning out a storage facility we had and there it was. It is a piece of 4" hump hose. Do a internet search. Here is a picture after the conversion to MAP. Going to the dyno next weekend. Hope to be up around 330RWHP. I will post the results.

- you can't loose the MAF unless you change computers. bottom line. - my 89 stock set-up was the same as the SLP cold air kit. - pretty good set-up. - not as nice as 1989GTATransAm's set up, but a nice piece...
