serious help needed!!!!!!

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=315101

I have been through 2 high performance engine mechanics and
almost 700.00 dollars out. Car has a serious loss of power it is throwing no codes and never has. It started as a slight miss and has grown into a major head ache kind of shakes and uneven accelleration in all gears but most noticeable in 5th gear where it shakes and stumbles all over itself. Both mechanics checked all sensors, fuel pressure, had rocker arms adjusted, timing checked, new wires, cap, rotor, spark plugs. It has been taken out on the road and highway on open and closed loop and the scanner is not reading any abnormal conditions. All injectors have been tested and checked out good, although a leak down test was not done. I am beggining to wonder if the computer is going bad there isn't much left I can think of. Maybe something to do with the fuel delivery? Could the maf sensor be bad but not throwing a code? I would really like to try and find a good TPI mechanic in the Mass or NH area can anyone help?? You can see what motor work has been done to my car in the link above. Car is no longer for sale.
Thanks

if it's not throwing any codes, then you'd really need to know the MAF reading(scanner will tell you) at different rpms to know for sure if it's functioning properly. Next change the dist module. Cheap enough to do just for maintenace sake. If you're still having problems, you might want to consider trying another distributor and/or ecm.

I just bought an 85 ecm and mass air burn off unit from e-bay just in case the ecm went south. I will look into the dist. module and the MAF next which is what I was planning on there is a Bosh unit in there now. I asked both mechanics if they thought it was the distributor and both said no and tested it. I also found out that the injectors were not ohm tested for resistance and that they all were just ear tested to see if they were ticking.

I would ohm test the injectors. I had a injector go bad on me. It did about the same as ur describing, would miss worse under a load.

I should know tomorrow about the injectors hopefully they will be the root of this headache. I just don't understand why 2 mechanics didn't ohm test them from the start.

Another thing I don't quite understand is why this was not throwing any codes?? It was a big drop in the performance I would think the ecm would be throwing codes. Could the chip be fried and not the computer?

Did the mech. check fuel pressure and if the fuel pressure doesn't leak down?
As someone else mentioned check the ohms output on the injectors, should be 10 ohms or more.
These problems do not throw codes.
good luck!

Problem solved it ended up being a faulty fuel injector wire connector on the #3 cylinder!!

you didn't mention the miss in your emissions thread, was it missing when you went to get it inspected?
