What have they done to this '85 305 tpi?
I'm buying an '86 Firebird Formula that has undergone a rather extensive restoration/modification. The engine came out of an '85 Iroc and is a 305 tpi. But due to the car having a carbeurated engine originally, they took the fuel injection off and replaced it with an Edelbrock carb. They also put a mild cam in it, headers, and complete aftermarket exhaust. I'm curious how this will affect the HP? I know more information is needed before you guys can even begin to guess, so just tell me what you need to know and I'll try to find it out.
Thanks

I'm hoping this car is close to or over 250 hp. That may be wishfull thinking, but he did say that this Firebird would almost keep up with his '80 Corvette which was making 265 hp.
Once I find out whats actually on the car and how it runs, I'd like to make a few more changes to get the engine up to around 300 hp. Maybe porting the stock heads would help? Or a reasonably priced set of aftermarket heads.
