timing

with the timing wire unplugged - should my timing move as i rev the engine? to set timing i am disconnecting timing plug & setting time but if i rev engie it changes

Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
Base is set at 6 degree(if TPI engine).

With EST unhooked u should notice a 2-4(I think its 2 degree) degree change in timing if you rev it past around 1600rpm or so.

This is built into the module.

Some searching will yield more explanations


Like I said this is built into the module kind of like a fail safe so at higher rpm's it does add a slight amount fo timing.

Anymore than a few degrees or a constant state of timing jumping with the EST dosconnected, I would have to say you have an ignition issue or timing chain issue/spark scatter.
