v6 throttle issue

My cousin has 92 rs with a 3.1 liter. The car runs good for about 10 minutes, then starts to hesitate on takeoff and during throttle increase but when reaches speed its ok. I have replaced the fuel filter and the tps sensor. Please give me a hand here.

Thanks,

Tony

I copied it to the V-6 Forum so it would get better exposure.

Have you checked fuel pressure? You were on teh right track with the filter change, and now that it has a good filter, getting an accurate pressure reading would be good.

Hmmm..........

Well it runs fine for the first 10-15 miniuts. Why would it be fuel pressure. (Dont think im calling you out on this one) I just wont know if i dont ask. Just trying to learn here.

Thanks,

It's a good question. It's possible that the pump starts losing pressure after heating, or the FPR changes after soaking up some engine heat. Knowing that the fuel pressure is adequate while this is happening would eliminate one variable.

Weak ignition can also cause or contribute to this kind of phenomenon. A heating ignition coil or pickup coil may be indicated, but instead of hesitation, plain old misfire is usually the result.
