Injector Wiring

Hey guys!

I'm doing a custom TPI install into my K25 pickup.

My question is if there wold be a problem with putting both banks of injectors on a single 10 amp fuse instead of two like the factory had them.

Thanks!

Russ

Probably. RMS current at high engine loads could blow the fuse, leaving you up a creek. The proper way to do it would be to install an auxilliary fuse panel for the injectors, MAF and other TPI sensors, ECM and Fuel pump, and cold start injector and control if you have one. That is FIVE fused circuits you'll need, so purchase a fuse panel accordingly.

I wound up installing it with a single 20 amp fuse for both sets.If I have problems, I can go to the wrecking yard and grab a couple more clips, I have one last opening in my stock fuse block for another fuse if required

We'll see what happens, I can't imagine those injectors pulling more than 20 amps, and if I do have a dead short, the 20 amp fuse will still blow. If it wrecks my injectors, I'm not to concerned. I've got 19 lb/hr injectors on my 355, and really should be upgrading to a set of 24 lb/hr injectors anyways...
