edelbrock runner gaskets?

What does everyone run for a top gasket on your edelbrock runners. The "edelbrock" $40.00 runner set only gives you the lower gaskets. Good "kit"! I called and they said run the stock gaskets and open them up. Great, but there tin in between the fel pro gaskets. What is everyone else doing?

you will still have to use the edlebrock lower gaskets because the mister gasket set will not work on the lower edlebrock runners. i found out from experience.

You would think for 40 freekin bucks the gasket set would be complete. It does list it as "edelbrock runner gasket set"!

I've used these gaskets with a slight trim on stock intakes with SLP and ASM runners. Out of curiosity,,, what was the problem with the Edelbrock runners? I've never bolted on a set, but was thinking I might get the next guy wanting me to work a set of runners to get the Edlebrocks.

i have an '87 so the port on the passenger side, the small tubewhich is i believe either an egr port or an idle air port, is made differently on the edelbrock runner. the mr gasket causes a vacuum leak cuz the port on the runner is angled strange. even stock lower gasket wouldn't work.

Do the Mr gasket upper gaskets have tin in between two layers of material or are they just material?

Hey guys, just wanted to clarify. ..

So I need to buy both kits?? EDL-3866 (bottoms) AND a set of stockers just to get the tops??
And then they BOTH need to be opened up?
Edelbrock doesn't sell a set of top pair already opened up?
Any other options?
Thanks.

the edelbrock set(lowers) are the same size as the edelbrock runner. they will not need to be opened up unless you port the runners. if you go ahead and get the mr gasket set for the tops, they don't need to be opened up either unless you port the edelbrock runners. stock uppers will need to be opened up for use with edelbrock runners.

From the looks of everything, you just buy 2 of the Mr Gasket 146 kits. You need 2 of the driver's side lower gasket to fit the Edelbrock runners.

$36 + shipping from Summit

Whats the PN# for the SLP gasket set? Every time I search on summit I get results that I'm not sure about (i.e. no description and vague product name)

Call summit and ask for the Mr Gasket set. They are 1.75" and half the cost. They have them in stock. I got some this summer. If you use the stockers they have tin in between two layers of gasket material and are hard to open up cleanly!

I used the stock gasket on the upper edelbrock runners and just used a dremel to open them up.
